What is this book called?
There was a book I remember reading as part of our required reading when I was in the 5th grade. However I cannot remember the name or any major details. Just that I really liked it.
This is what I remember: It was set some time in the late 1800′s maybe early 1900′s. It followed a little girl and her family as they traveled across the country to the west. They endured many hardships along the way. Such as extreme heat. And to cool off they would place a sugar cube in their mouth. The little girl also had a doll that she would carry with her.
If I am not mistaken I believe my teacher said it was a true story and the little girls doll was located at a museum someplace.
I know its vauge but please help. Thank you
Was the book called, “Remember My Name”? I read it a long time ago too and had to re-look it up to make sure, but I think that could be the book you are referring too. It talks about the trail of tears.
